Alyssa
Alyssa serves alongside our team as a labor and postpartum doula. Drawn through a natural curiosity of childbirth and midwifery, she found her calling as a doula. Alyssa knew being a present support to laboring moms and encouraging brand new families was the perfect pursuit for her life. She earned certification as a labor and postpartum doula through ProDoula and further trained through New Creation’s mentorship program. Alyssa recognizes that pregnancy and postpartum are two of the most challenging yet rewarding seasons for a family, and she loves supporting women and their families through a smooth, confident transition into parenthood. She helps families do more than just survive labor and the postpartum period; she enables them to enjoy both seasons and to thrive – growing in love towards one another. Alyssa encourages informed consent through gentle education, provides physical support to ease the challenges of labor and recovery, and supports her clients emotionally – because she has seen these practices produce encouraged, empowered women and families who relish this season of transformation!
Alyssa and her husband Brent married in 2018 and enjoy traveling, playing with their dogs Bambi and Copper, and are currently living their own real life version of HGTV’s “Fixer Upper.” On a lazy Saturday afternoon you can find Alyssa trying all the samples at Costco! She and her husband attend Imago Dei church in Raleigh. She congratulates you on this wonderful season of growth and transformation and can’t wait to serve you and your family!
